First of all this is not a suggestion, this is more of a question asking, has this been asked before
And suggesting improvements to SN is a path to be treaded carefully, the amount of hard work put in by k00b, Scoresby, sox and all the contributors is definitely recognised and appreciated
I'm noticing a lot of AI bots in the comments recentlyI'm noticing a lot of AI bots in the comments recently
What if we had a 'Following' at the top of the territories list, that only shows posts from Stackers you follow with a filtered comment section that shows comments from followed Stackers and hides other comments as the mute function does currently
We have Subscriptions alreadyWe have Subscriptions already
These act as notifications that Stackers you 'follow' have created a post or commented on a post, but It's not a full following only feed
Downzapping the botsDownzapping the bots
What if we didn't need to downzap these clankers and trolls and make them forever irrelevant by never seeing their content
This is a bit Nostr isn't it?This is a bit Nostr isn't it?
Obviously the following feed is the way Nostr clients operate
Nod to SubscriptionsNod to Subscriptions
Scoresby is one of my favourite Stackers and I obviously subbed him and the sub feature works very well, you could just consume all your SN content by the red notification bell and curate your sub list as your follow list, but the UI/UX isn't the same as the home page
What do Stackers think? What do Stackers think?
- Are you a heavy subscription user?
- Would you want separate 'Following' for posts and comments?
- Or is the Subscription feature enough?
I found one post on this topic from years ago #6880 and I'm sure It's been debated many times since then
As I mentioned before not a criticism or a hard suggestion, just looking down the road at the inevitability of more AI slop appearing in the comments
I'm all for expanding the personalization options and my sense is that k00b generally has that attitude as well. It's mostly a matter of priorities.
Never made much use of the subscription feature, really. High-quality scoresby posts show up in Lit anyway
True dat, so do yours bro, love a FT story denstyle
Haven't been much of that in recent weeks!
