Every time any of LinkedIn’s one billion users visits linkedin.com, hidden code searches their computer for installed software, collects the results, and transmits them to LinkedIn’s servers and to third-party companies including an American-Israeli cybersecurity firm.

I wondered if it might be scanning local ports for programs running. I didn’t read close enough to see if that was mentioned
Among modern browsers, firefox is the only one that still allows port scanning afaik.
