Deep Impact (titled: Impacto profundo in Latin America) is an American disaster film released in 1998, directed by Mimi Leder and starring, among others, Téa Leoni, Morgan Freeman, Elijah Wood, and Robert Duvall. The film follows humanity's attempts to prepare to destroy a 7-mile (11 km) wide comet that is destined to collide with Earth and cause a mass extinction.
