During my presentation at the Bitcoin Education at the University of Malawi, someone in the audience asked this question,
You only have stated the pros of using Bitcoin. "What are the cons?"
I simply handled it this way, ***"With great power, comes great responsibility"***. Of course I explained it simple terms. And was very happy to see over 100 people, showing interest in contributing to Bitcoin, in their own capacity. Over 100 people downloaded a lightning wallet and created a lightning wallet, some created a USSD lightning wallet by dialing *384*8333*0265#. Receiving sats from our team, and practicing sending and receiving amongst themselves. It was so encouraging how they showed great interest.
How would you answer such kind of question? "What are the cons of using Bitcoin?
On chain Bitcoin is slow, expensive, and isn't private. You can use coinjoins to transact on chain anonymously, but then it's even slower and even more expensive.
Lightning fixes all of this since it's fast, cheap, and private. But this layer introduces a new set of tradeoffs like requiring continuous Internet connectivity, channel liquidity management, and annoyances like force close timelocks.
The main purpose of Bitcoin is: FUCK THE GOV AND BANKS. That's it, If we get rid of that, the rest is easy peasy.
Also I wrote this:
If all those 100 participants will read these only 4 guides, will get it 100%
everyone wants to steal it from you. some of the thieves may succeed.
