There seem to be many varieties of custody available now. Some have trade-offs while others are just theater. What scratches your custodial itch?

For very small pocket change amounts, if I don't trust a centralized vanilla custodian to not kyc/rug, I prefer a federated trust model that requires more collusion to rug.

Spark > Fedimint > Ark > Liquid > Cashu

What? this order is bogus! How you got liquid second to last? They have confidential transactions!!

The others can rug you easier than liquid

For pocket change amounts, I want something lightning native that has SDKs and stuff for the app ecosystem.

I agree that Liquid is fairly lindy, but it hasn't iterated on its trust model in years afaict - Spark/Fedimint/Ark are all trying to improve in that regard.

Running your own node is king. But if I have to trust/invest in solutions, that's the idiosyncratic order I'd pick today.

But liquid works today an their trust model is federated partners across the globe.

Plus it has SDKs via breez bull bitcoin, misty breez and Aqua do liquid to lightning submarine swaps.

Spark is just getting started no one uses Fedi and ark is still in development

I'm explicitly being progressive with choices - things I think have a shot of replacing Liquid for whatever people use Liquid for.

Spark has unilateralish exit, so does Ark. Liquid does not. Fedimint as a federated custodian is quite Liquid-like, but is trying to fight one-federation-rules-them-all.

The liquid hate continues for more shiny projects with fancy roadmaps and limited execution.

Primal which has limited users found bugs which needed a quick fix to show everyone’s balance again.
