I've always wondered how these measurements are so bad. Don't they at least measure guys when they're draft prospects?

Is there some incentive to mismeasure height?

I vaugely remember reading about height reporting incentives in the NBA, but I can't remember who has the incentive to misstate, and in which direction, and why, lol.

I know there have been guys like KG and KD who didn't want to be thought of as 7-footers, because they didn't want to have to play like bigs.

I don't know of any official incentive to fudge it one way or the other.
