Well I think Politics, followed by the Banking industry .

Mattresses. :P

reply

Without a doubt, religion, the church, is one of the greatest falsehoods that inhabit this world, and then there is politics.

reply

The government would absolutely collapse. Like immediately.

reply

I actually think the government would run better, haha. Though the current politicians might all be cast out.

I think the legal industry would probably die. No need for lawyers if everyone was always compelled to tell the truth.

all government corporations exist based on lies; without lying, they collapse.

The government can last awhile without lying because it has lots of scary weapons.

reply

No lol. They would just pivot to being honest. It's not like dishonesty is required to have goverment.

reply

Religion.

Yes, this does include Christianity. It's not a "relationship", it's a fantasy.

Isn't there a movie with this plot...?

reply

Is acting exempt from this? Because the film industry would collapse instantly if actors couldn't say things that weren't true.

reply

What I'm about to say isn't exactly an industry issue, but if humans lost the ability to lie, hospitals would collapse and many people would die...

Especially those with terminal illnesses...

reply

I don't know if any industry would "collapse" exactly. Most could adapt. Even banks do disclose in the contract that it's not actually your money. They just use obscure jargon to say it.

Politics would descend into outright violence, as we're already seeing. Because it ultimately is gangs competing over territory to either extort peaceful industries or protect them from extortion. Deception is what keeps the peace by persuading the victims of taxation to comply. If we're honest about the nature of the game then there's nothing to debate.

Social media would take a big loss in revenue.
