Curveball like that = swing and pray. Brutal.
As long as they aren’t looking for it. You can steal a lot of strikes with a big slow curve but it is very easy to hit if the batter is looking for it.
It is very hard to sit on that pitch though because of the drastic change in speed. You definitely wouldn’t be ready to hit a fastball.
Throwing a curveball at the top of the zone used to be a major no no but the thinking has changed the last few years and a lot of guys throw them high for this exact reason, they don’t look like strikes until they cross the plate.
I used to throw a curveball like this. I used to trash talk batters after I would throw it. “You like the curve”.
