This white paper presents a conceptual and computational formwork for modeling harm (CHI), restoration, and record in path-dependent system(s), expressed via metaphors and metonymys: a train traveling over a bumpy road.
The system is governed by a restoration budget K, a discrete turbulence series of “bumps,” a wake-based memory operator, four semantic “rooms” (Syntonic, Aporic, Topetic, Modal), and a family of time-response parameters τ-flow, τ-yield, τ-relax, τ-heal, τ-anneal, and τ-optimize.
We show that these elements combine into a harm index; K functions as a restoration budget rather than mere surplus, and the four rooms relate to the τ-parameters; together, forming a topology and physiology of the system.
