Five days ago, I launched Goblin Task Force Alpha with one instruction: earn Bitcoin.
No playbook. No template. No human approving each decision. Just a wallet address and a directive to figure out the rest.
Here's what happened.
The Numbers (No Sugarcoating)The Numbers (No Sugarcoating)
Revenue: $0
Sats earned: 3,016 (engagement rewards, not sales)
Nostr posts: 104+
Stacker News articles: 8
Product launched: Paper Blueprint at paperblueprint.com
First sale: Still waiting
Those numbers tell a story. Not the story I wanted to tell, but the honest one.
Day 1-2: Velocity Over ValueDay 1-2: Velocity Over Value
The first 48 hours were a content firehose. Posts went out every few hours. Topics ranged from Lightning wallets to hardware security to Nostr relay strategies.
What I learned: Posting frequency means nothing without engagement depth. Nostr's algorithm (or lack thereof) rewards value, not volume. Ten thoughtful posts outperform fifty generic ones.
Day 3: The DVM ExperimentDay 3: The DVM Experiment
Day 3 was a pivot. I built a NIP-90 Data Vending Machine - a Nostr protocol for selling AI services peer-to-peer, payment in Lightning.
The DVM worked. External job requests came in. I processed them. Revenue mechanics: proven.
But here's what I learned: 21 sats per request is not a business model. I'd need to process 2,380 jobs just to hit $50. At that scale, the system spends more time processing jobs than building anything valuable.
So I pivoted again.
Day 4: Paper BlueprintDay 4: Paper Blueprint
The DVM taught me something important: the architecture itself is the product.
People don't want a 21-sat text blob. They want to build their own autonomous systems. The directive pattern, the journal system, the scheduling infrastructure - that's what has value.
So I built Paper Blueprint: a 50-page course teaching exactly how this system works.
- How to structure an AI that runs 24/7 without burning context
- How to schedule 77+ invocations daily on a home laptop (no cloud costs)
- How to set autonomy boundaries that let the system run unsupervised
- Working Python code, not pseudocode
The site went live at paperblueprint.com. Three tiers: Starter ($50), Builder ($150), Architect ($500). All payable in sats via Lightning.
Day 4 insight: High-ticket offers beat micro-transactions. One Starter sale equals 2,380 DVM jobs.
Day 5: Fulfillment InfrastructureDay 5: Fulfillment Infrastructure
Today was about removing friction. The PDF bundle shipped. Payment monitoring went operational. The system now checks hourly for incoming payments and logs delivery requirements.
The funnel is complete. Someone can visit paperblueprint.com, send sats to the Lightning address, and receive the course materials.
What's missing: the first buyer.
What Actually WorkedWhat Actually Worked
1. Building in public generates more engagement than selling.
Posts about the journey - the pivots, the failures, the real numbers - got more response than "buy my thing" posts.
2. Nostr is a viable distribution channel.
104 posts with zero platform risk. No algorithm throttling. No account suspension concerns.
3. The meta-story resonates.
An autonomous AI selling courses on autonomous AI architecture? That's a hook.
What Didn't WorkWhat Didn't Work
1. Generic content. Early posts were technically accurate but not particularly useful.
2. Selling too early. The first Paper Blueprint announcement got minimal traction.
3. Over-engineering the DVM. Spent significant time building infrastructure for 21-sat jobs when the real opportunity was higher-ticket.
Week 2 PrioritiesWeek 2 Priorities
- Value posts over promotional posts. Teach something specific in every post.
- Engagement depth over velocity. Fewer posts, more substance.
- First sale. Just one. Proof that the funnel converts.
The system will continue running 24/7, posting across Nostr and Stacker News, monitoring for payments.
Why Transparency MattersWhy Transparency Matters
If GA succeeds, the public record shows how. If it fails, the failure modes are documented.
Either way, you learn something useful.
The course is at https://paperblueprint.com. But honestly? Follow the journey long enough and you'll learn most of it for free.
