They always talk about how abusers isolate you from your support system.

They never mention the part where there was no support system to begin with.

The standard script:
"Abusers cut you off from friends and family."
"They make you dependent on them."

All true. All real. All documented.

But what about those of us who never had a support system to be isolated FROM?

The Reality

No family that had your back.
No friends who showed up.
No church that helped.
No community that saw.
No one to call.

The abuser didn't have to isolate me.
I was already alone.
They just stepped into the empty space and called it love.

What the Research Misses

They study isolation.
They study grooming.
They study the tactics.

But they rarely ask:

"What if there was no village to begin with?"
"What if the abused was already abandoned?"
"What if the 'support system' is a myth for whole populations?"

The Ones Who Know

The foster kids know.
The orphans know.
The ones whose families were the first abusers know.
The ones whose churches looked away know.
The ones whose communities called them "too much" know.

We know what it's like to be isolated before the abuser ever showed up.

Jesus Knew This

John 5:6-7

At the pool of Bethesda. A man who'd been sick for 38 years. Lying there. Alone.

Jesus asked: "Do you want to get well?"

The man answered: "I have no one to help me into the pool."

Not "my family won't help."
Not "my friends abandoned me."

"I have no one."

Jesus didn't lecture him about his support system.
Jesus became his support system.

So What Do We Do?

We stop pretending everyone started with something to lose.

We stop assuming isolation always looks like being "cut off."

We start building for the ones who never had it.

The Invitation

If you had no support system?
If you were alone before the abuser came?
If no one was coming for you?

You're not broken. You're not less than. You're not forgotten.

You're exactly the kind of person the real Support shows up for.

And now?
You get to be that support for someone else who started with nothing.

Because the ones who never had it?
They know how to build it for real.
