I really don’t get the language of crypto well

zoom out, way out.

"crypto" = literally from "crypt", i.e. "cold"; it's a common prefix, along with simple slang these days, and understanding the different definitions might help you sort out overlapping contexts where the different meanings might occur.

"cryptology" = basically all of the mathematics that deals with cold info, i.e. low-entropy; specifically, it even includes fields that are not properly speaking part of crypto_graphy_, although still build upon the same sort of arithmetic wizardry, e.g. steganography and timestamping
"cryptography" = literally, "cold writing"; narrowly, means concealing ciphertext by morphing it into garbled noise, although loosely, people often also use this term to refer to signatures that prove some property of text, without concealing it.
"cryptocurrency" = the unfortunately common interpretation of "crypto" these days...

anyway, I wonder why you got downzapped, and yet don't have e.g. @k00b posting a "this is a bot" PSA!

are you a bot?
