The other day I was talking with a friend about the 20M bitcoin mined and scarcity.

He told me that the derivates from ETFs and other sintetic assets around Bitcoin generates more friction on scarcity, saying that it is now not sure there are 20M but more, and this is one of the things that the market see and one of the many reasons we are not above 100k.

What do you think?

@k00b @sox, FYI, SN is now checking user agents. Is this intended, or is it a bug? I couldnโ€™t find the code that enforces this.

$ curl -X POST 'https://stacker.news/api/graphql' -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -d '{"query": "query items { items(limit: 1) { items { id } } }"}'
<html>
<head><title>403 Forbidden</title></head>
<body>
<center><h1>403 Forbidden</h1></center>
</body>
</html>
$ curl -X POST 'https://stacker.news/api/graphql' -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -H 'User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) Chrome/120.0' -d '{"query": "query items { items(limit: 1) { items { id } } }"}'
{"data":{"items":{"items":[{"id":"1452733"}]}}}

I switched on a WAF rule last night because we've been getting hammered by low quality crawlers. The rules may be too broad.

No worries, just wanted to let you know

I already updated @nitter

It would be great if the search in SN returned an empty result when it didn't find the exact word I'm looking for, instead of similar and isolated words. Is there any way to perform a strict search, like using quotes in search engines?

I just disable it on every device, I want everything on full maximum ultra brightness.

maybe that's why I see everything kind of "darker" now...

I generally am full dark mode and I prefer working in darkness or at least in the shade. I think I have more of the right hand issue nowadays than the left. But they both happen still.

observation:

the more Matrix-based the territory (e.g. ~econ ~AI), the more difficult it is to pull those users out of the Matrix; nonetheless, someone has to do it, because those users are stuck in a deep mental maze of bullshit ideas;

Weird claim, since youโ€™ve exerted no such effort as far as I can tell.

Got a really beautiful PS2 Slim (70x model, first version) up and running with games loading from Samba (ethernet) and Memory Card.

Man it really is an amazing console. Sucks that on 4K it's just a 480i mess and GTA San Andreas looks like the compressed JPEG of a knockoff.
I need to find a good Sony Trinitron to make it shine.

Missed this one a few weeks ago. Parasite Pool won a block. 1 BTC is paid out to the lucky miner and the rest of the block reward goes to the other miners in the pool.

Just a heads up @k00b and @sox. This morning I got a warning g on my graphene mobile that the SN PWA had unexpected permissions or something like that. It was just a notice, and I'm sure it's no big deal. I sometimes get those notifications, but never before with the SN PWA.

If I recall correctly, we didn't change anything that requires permissions (or new permissions). I'll check this out, thanks for letting us know siggy ^^
