Hi SN,

I built a self-hosted Bitcoin portfolio tracker.

The idea was simple: track BTC investments without putting sensitive financial data in third-party apps.

Features:

  • runs locally
  • SQLite database
  • Docker deployment, windows exe, umbrel support
  • CSV import from exchanges (Kraken, Binance, Coinbase), autosync by API
  • DCA analysis and portfolio insights
  • customizable dashboard
  • multi-user support and much much more!

I originally built it for my own homelab, but decided to open source it.

Would love feedback from the community.

That's cool - I'll give it a go via Umbrel - I saw it on marketplace but didn't have time to try it before...

nice one, can you bulk import CSV?

reply

You can import bulk transactions via CSV - there are few types of exchanges - and custom template to put transactions.

this looks sooooo fiat mindset. garbage

reply

Until I can't go grocery shopping with sats - I need to measure current value some how - fiat is better than putting 1 -btc = 700 cans of beans :D

reply

oh so this is you...

reply

lul xD

only way for me currently is using some 3rd party which will do conversion on the fly btc -> fiat (like Revolut) with bloated fee rates aaaaand i need to keep some btc on its exchange

That's exactly why I am not using mentioned above way to pay in btc for anything physical currently :) I am wondering how you're doing your shopping, unless you're living in some BTC paradise like El Salvador haha

reply

I've explained many times here, but seems that you didn't read it.

You do not have to live in a "btc paradise", you just have to convince few merchants nearby in your local community to accept your sats.

The important thing is to start EARN in sats and not buying it anymore. Spending is fucking easy.

But when your mind is infected with fiat mindset, you cannot comprehend this way of living.

reply

That would be paradise - don't assume I am not trying to - from all business I interacted over the years I managed to get ONE barber and ONE coffee-shop to setup ln payment, rest just asks if they can pay in Lidl/other supermarket with that and I have to say nope.

We are far from possibility to living on standard - you can work up that way but it's not just possbile until adoption goes wider like in Switzerland where you have LN payment in SPAR.

Anyway, thanks for conv. - I can see you're living in black/white world. Have fun! Hopefully we can all earn/spend in stas in the future ;)

Pretty neat, I'll give it a go later - are you planning to make MacOS dedicated app - I can see windows only.

reply

Yeah - local app. is built with electron so there's easy way to generate dedicated MacOS / LInux bundle but didn't have time yet to test it. Probably in next releases you can expect dedicated clients.
