As an Iranian, I will explain why war was our only way out.

The Islamic regime's founder, Ayatollah Khomeini, has long called for Israel's destruction. Since my childhood, we were forced to chant "Death to America" and "Death to Israel" daily in school. The regime has funded proxy groups to attack Israelis and Americans, even the civilians of these countries - among others.

We Iranians have exhausted every peaceful option to change this. We elected supposed "moderates" as president, hoping for reform and an end to threats against our own people and the world. Those hopes were shattered as their foreign interventions, proxy wars, and deaths continued. They didn't change even one bit.

We protested peacefully. Repeatedly. And each time, met with bullets. Democrats' policy of negotiation and appeasement only gave it more wiggle room and provided the regime with a lifeline, costing more lives globally and in Iran.

The regime had countless chances to de-escalate and listen to its critics (I mean, us, Iranian people). Instead, it pursued decades of hostility, chanting for war while draining our resources. Now that the conflict has arrived, it blames protesters and the world for it.

We never wanted war. But after the regime massacred thousands of defenseless protestors, including children and the elderly, we had one last hope to resort to: asking for military intervention. It's not a war, it is a rescue operation. People and powers worldwide are uniting against this evil regime.

By this reasoning, it will take a war to put an end to America's war machine, since Americans vote for the peace candidate almost every time and only ever get more war.

US power wealth and petrodollar hegemony are based upon its ability to project military aggression.

The infantile idea that USA is a great capitalist state is nonsense- USA is today a rogue state led by Trump and his oligarchs repeatedly breaking international law to promote and preserve its global resource hegemony - because it cannot compete with Chinas industrial productive capacity.

Some Iranians will surrender their sovereignty and dignity to be another puppet state servile to and dominated by the USA.
They are only human, seeking short term ease and economic gains at the expense of independence and self determination.
USA seeks to perpetuate its global petrodollar fiat debt slavery hegemony and some Iranian citizens are prepared to bow to that pressure.
They will be slaves.
The price of freedom is as always is the determination to fight for it or die for it.

I don't really care that you, an Iranian presumably outside of Iran, are happy that the US has started this war.

I, as a US citizen, voted (so I thought, looks like I was deceived) for no new forever wars. No regime change. This war has no up-side and just huge downsides for the US and the whole world, not to mention the risk of WWIII

How about YOU go over there, and spend YOUR money rescuing YOUR country.

And not ask Americans to fight and die for you, and our Israeli overlords.

Britain split Persia into Iran and Iraq to enable hegemony over these lands.
The nation state boundaries of the middle east and Africa were drawn up by the colonial powers in Europe over hundreds of years.
When the centre of western power moved from Britain to the US after WW2 the US and Britain installed the shah as their puppet to enable continued extraction of Irans vast oil reserves by Britan and US oil companies.
Today USA shows zero regard for international law as it seeks to perpetuate its global petrodollar based hegemony.
China has won the trade war- all nations much now trade with China or lose significiant economic advantage but USA is seeking to perpetuate its wealth and privilege through brute force and unlawful military aggression against any nation that does not show subservience to the USA.

The wealth of nation is to a large extent determined by their power projection capability.
"Free trade' 'democracy' are just words used to cover the brute force power projection of the USA and its disregard for the rights of all other people to determine their own destiny.

Trumps current invasion of Iran and Venezuela is a new era of colonialism where USA seeks to preserve its dominance via military force despite China economy beating the US on productive capacity and efficiency.
