When I compared 2 Thessalonians 2 with the prophecy timeline many of us learned growing up, I noticed something interesting.
Paul’s sequence appears to be:
rebellion → lawless ruler → deception → Christ appears → evil defeated
The detailed rapture-tribulation timeline most churches teach today largely comes from John Nelson Darby’s 19th-century system, later popularized by the Scofield Reference Bible.
