HMRC data analyzed by investment app Plum shows that more Brits have become millionaires via the tax-advantaged investment account ISA than have won millions in the national lottery....
The research, conducted by savings and investment app Plum, follows freedom of information requests the platform made to HMRC that showed there were 5,070 Isa millionaires at the end of the 2022-23 tax year.
New data shows a further 2,770 investors owned pots worth between £900,000-£999,999 that year, while 4,700 had pots worth £800,000-£899,999.
Stock market gains in the years since mean a significant number of those will have Isas now worth more than seven-figures, according to Plum, with typical Isa global trackers, following benchmarks such as FTSE All World Index, gaining more than 50 per cent since HMRC last updated its data in April 2023.

unabashed lottery player here. i like to get a single ticket when the powerball gets >200M or so. It's a nice little fantasy to imagine what to do with the winnings. Was more fun before I had real money.
