the barbie-doll economy, in turn, is built on oil; electric devices are likewise powered by energy from burning the oil... research and development of better energy sources is heavily suppressed;

things become more expensive due to theft, people see it - try to keep up with price increases by buying faster & earlier lol; except that their unclean body-mind complex is incapable of making the correct purchase decisions;
