I want to set up a chat with a group of friends where we can share links, images, PDFs, words, addresses, opinions, etc. And where the information is saved and organized so we can find it later.
And, obviously, we want to be sure our messages are private.
What options are there?
I'd love to hear your opinion or experiences.

I've used keet and been pleasantly surprised. Group chat works well and voice isn't so bad either. Haven't tried video.
have you tried Briar?
it's got a very minimal UI, which I think is a plus because it focuses on what people write rather than social media glitz. the main drawback is that only Android is supported currently.
