Well, this was shitty news to wake up to. Hyperion is a masterpiece, as are The Terror and Carrion Comfort. Man could do both sci-fi and horror incredibly well.

That’s really sad to hear. Hyperion left such a mark on sci-fi — and the way he moved between genres so effortlessly was rare. He built worlds that stick with you.
