It doesn't seem to me like that many miners have been unplugged. Hash rate is down a little from all time highs, but it's still quite close.

I suppose we could link the sentiment of miners with bip110, ultimately we should see them signalling and as you say, there Isn't any.

Mining hardware is too specialized to be repurposed for AI applications. At best, I would expect the logistical expertise to translate directly and this to be an additional business they could branch out into, but their investments into mining hardware would not translate.
