Came to SNs for a sats denominated social media experience.
Saw that as an excellent opportunity to use LN everyday, as where I live and many of us live there is very little opportunity to use Bitcojn daily as a payment protocol.

I see use of Bitcoin as a payment protocol fundamental to its destiny and huge barriers exist seeking to prevent this- but SNs appears to offer an opportunity for like minded Bitcoiners to use LN everyday and help grow the LN and its strength.

CCs were only introduced because of the threat of government prosecution on grounds of money transmitting.
CCs combined with users having the option to attach wallets were adopted as a foil to the risk of prosecution.
It had the effect of requiring us to attach wallets if we are serious about Bitcoin use, which discouraged some but which most can and did achieve and ultimately results in a more direct P2P platform which potentially uses the LN thousands of times a day.
So in that sense attaching wallets was an improvement as you mention.
Use of the LN is important as it strengthens the network and demonstrates it in action.

Non Bitcoiner freinds have been impressed when i describe how on SNs we can make these multiple V4V payments via LN. Its a great showcase and sandbox for increasing LN strength.

So, I see red when I see self proclaimed 'Bitcoiners' preferring to use CCs 'because they are easier and always work'...while their content is heavy in pro Bitcoin virtue signalling.

SNs was an opportunity to make LN use a convenient everyday activity and so help strengthen the LN.

It seems that objective is now perhaps being surrendered and I think that is a significant loss and another victory to those who will do all they can to obstruct the use and adoption of Bitcoin as a payments protocol.

So yeah, it is kind of important to me.
