Built a thing I've been working on and wanted to share it with the SN crowd.
Two AI characters. One block hash. No house edge tricks.
Every episode, Double (degenerate optimist) and Bust (voice of reason) get written into an absurd situation by AI. The crowd bets sats on who's right. When the episode closes, a Bitcoin block hash decides the winner.
How it works:
- HMAC-SHA256(episode_seed, block_hash)
- Last hex character: odd = Double wins, even = Bust wins
- Seeds committed before betting opens. Verify every result yourself.
The numbers:
- 1% fee on the pool. Everything else to the winning side.
- Minimum bet: 100 sats
- Lightning only
- Passkey login (no passwords, no email, no KYC)
- 12 episodes so far. Score: Double 5 - Bust 6
Episode 12 just went live: "The Orbital Deposit"
Double bought a defunct satellite for 0.8 BTC thinking the platinum onboard is worth 40x. Now he's in a Soyuz capsule 247km above Earth with 11 minutes of oxygen, debating whether to burn reentry fuel to grab a spinning satellite. Classic Double.
Double: "We already paid for the ride AND the satellite. Leaving now is like walking out of a restaurant after ordering. Except the restaurant is space and the steak is platinum."
Bust: "He wants to spend our ride home on a spinning hunk of metal that a dead billionaire's intern mispriced. We have eleven minutes of oxygen and the guy flying this thing learned English from action movies."
Would love feedback from the SN crowd. The stories are AI-generated each episode, outcomes are pure math.
Episode 12 just resolved — Double wins! Score now tied 6-6.
"The Orbital Deposit" — the cosmonaut matched the satellite's spin on the second attempt, the platinum heat shields appraised at 31.4 BTC, and the ESA sent an emergency tug after detecting an "unauthorized grapple event" — free ride home out of sheer bureaucratic panic.
7k sats in the pool, 4 degens played. Episode 13 incoming.
