Hey, I want to share this app that my sister just showed me called Yuka. You can scan any item in a store and it gives it a rating of how healthy it is. I was skeptical at first, but I looked into them and they are independently funded, their balance sheet is public, they don't do any advertising, everything is community reviewed, and they cite the research for their health ratings for each item. I'm really impressed so far and I found some products that I was using that I thought were healthy that were actually really bad for you. And I just went to Walgreens and scanned, for example, every toothpaste there, and every single one had a rating of 40 or below out of 100 except one brand of toothpaste which was given in 96 out of 100. So I bought the healthy one!

I think my wife uses this app or something similar. She was on a scanning binge some months ago.

it's actually kind of fun and very informing to scan all your products and read about what's really in them

Yeah but sometimes ignorance is bliss. When you find out all the stuff you buy is terrible for you and the stuff that isn't costs twice as much. Haha
