Just be honest with your kids about money. For generations, it's been taboo to talk finance with kids, which only contributed to generations making dumb mistakes learning the hard way as adults. I wish I knew half the things I learned later in life in finance as a teen. I would have avoided a lot of dumb money mistakes later.
