The solar industry has a new threat: plug-in solar panels at the discount level. The biggest hindrance to people now, made worse by the loss of energy tax credits, is the cost of installation of traditional solar systems. Now, plug-in portable panels are appearing, recently made legal in Utah. The industry is already pushing back sounding the alarm about safety and little gain possible versus traditional installation. Reading between the lines with a block of salt, I would be interested on actual performance metrics. What do people actually see in electricity reduction with this discount option...
