I know this will shock you to your very core, but I think the Washington Post may be engaging in a bit of obfuscation here.

  1. The link between autism and vaccines is not "well-investigated". There's not been a single randomized controlled trial of that question.
  2. They say the increase in autism cases may be due to excessive diagnosis, but don't comment on the rise in severe autism symptoms, which I've seen documented elsewhere.

to be fair, it's an opinion piece by an outside researcher (Omary)... WaPo is just ("just"?) publishing it.
