By chance (or fate, in the form of a dog), a cruel prison guard is recognized by his former victim, who proceeds to kidnap him. But interrupted by doubt, he seeks confirmation from other victims, including a wedding photographer, a bride and groom, and an angry nut case.
Not a violent revenge movie, there is subtle humor, like when the group of avengers can't help but save the antagonist's wife and daughter from distress, and grudgingly have to pay for hospital services. My take is that the avengers are simply too decent to kill a guilty man. But the ending is not disappointing.
One of the best movies I have seen this year, full of humanity and uplifting in a funny way despite the serious subject matter.
