I can't imagine how crappy the ai.com site is gonna be.

Any guesses on what it's gonna be about? I doubt he's in a position to build his own AI company from scratch.

Should have bought ai.ai

reply

is it available still? go buy it @grayruby, you will eventually have your own sports team

reply

Not available. Too bad.

reply

It's going to sell AI services, I'm sure.

Like..... consulting services? wrappers around other LLMs? not sure what is meant by "ai services"

No. It will offer you a clawdbot at 500% margin. That's the business model of crypto dot com too.

reply

so, basically a wrapper but upcharge? because of people too stupid to find the cheaper services and only finding it because of the domain name ai.com?

reply

Correct!

We've been living in that world since at least the 70s, though some of my friends would argue that it started in 1933 when Heineken entered the US lol

There must be some sociological/economic research which demonstrates that the actual-name-of-thing.com domains are negatively correlated with product quality.

And the underlying theory would be exactly that: if you own that domain name, you don't have to work as hard to actually make a good product.

Bearish on CEOs juggling with two companies and diluting their attention.

I feel only Elon's neuralink brain is capable of that.

Feels about right. Will they be changing the Lakers arena name again?

reply

Obvious outcome

This exchange was on my bingo card for the 2022 blow-ups. Surprised it's still going.

Didn't they buy that stadium, too?

reply

Yes, in Los Angeles! Staples Center became the Crypto.com Arena, which is a travesty.
