My Thoughts 💭My Thoughts 💭

If you are a millennial you know exactly what PayPal is. I open my first PayPal account long ago when I was buying kicks, clothes, and videos games off eBay. I deleted my account after they stated to shut down people accounts and hold hostage their funds due to speech and other things that didn’t align with the company/government agenda. The only reason I own shares in this company is due to this experiment..

Let’s take a look at the fundamentals from a bitcoin perspective!

At 56.1k sats per share ($70,022), and a 799 sat per share yearly dividend. It would take 70 years of dividends payments to recover the initial investment of this company.

The company trades at a PE 7 which means investors are paying $7 to access $1 of earnings. Stock is dirt cheap!

Let’s review some key fundamentals to determine if this stock is worth spending sats on.

The fundamentals of this company are decent. The balance sheet is good, the growth prospects are terrible but they do pay out a dividend, a healthy profit margin, they offer Bitcoin exchange services which gives them entry into the future Bitcoin economy.

From a bitcoin lens an investor is getting a decently ran company that is part of the Bitcoin adoption race. Paying 56k in sats for this company is reasonable. Plus the dividend payments can be used to stack more sats.

Here is my performance since I started buying shares almost 5 years ago:

Here is the performance according to Simply Wall Street

The market does not like this stock at all! One must ask at this cheap valuation is it worth dumping some sats for this company. I think yes because the margins and cash flow are solid, they have a foot in the bitcoin economy, the balance sheet is in good shape and it’s a strong brand. I think the market is punishing this stock due to its weak growth prospects.

I will continue to add shares of PayPal due to my experiment but the fundamentals make it a decent investment for sat spenders.
