I like how you freely generalize and stereotype like me. I like NYC and Washington DC cops based on personal experience. Maryland and Georgia highway cops are the worst.The Waffle House came up in the North/South conversation. My buddy thinks he's too good for the Waffle House. After my dad passed, I used to drive my mother and her two cats back and forth between New York and Florida twice a year for fifteen years. EVERY FL to NY trip began with breakfast at the Waffle House.

The North begins wherever waffle houses start being hard to find.
I'm a Westerner, so these things are easy for me to spot.
The changing character of the various state patrols is also an interesting aspect of thus federated union of ours. Virginia staters are assholes. Same with Oregon. Texas staters may also be assholes, but they will basically let you drive at any speed you like. New Mexico cops just like giving out tickets, mostly to Texans, I think. I haven't had intimate interactions with the finest in other places, so I can't speak to the local customs.
Long range driving is a blast. Before I had kids I made many trips across the fruited plain. I miss driving.
I'm ready for Travels with Siggy...well, I guess it really should be Travels with Siggy's dog.
