New features include:
- "Submarine Payments": onchain payments from the lightning balance through a swap (desktop only)
- Optional biometric authentication (e.g. Fingerprint) on Android
- Manual fee edit on Android (e.g. allowing for sub-1sat/b tx)
- LNURL-Withdraw: Allows scanning QR codes to receive funds on lightning (e.g. Vouchers)
And of course many other improvements under the hood. Find the full changelog on github: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/spesmilo/electrum/refs/heads/master/RELEASE-NOTES

It's cool that this guy is still cranking away after all this time, though I never hear of anyone using Electrum anymore.
Use it for all L1 hot and cold.
Found LN not so easy to use on Electrum so I use Coinos for that.
Linux + Electrum + Coinos = ease of use and security.
Just don't leave too many sats on coinos.
May I ask what issues you encountered when trying LN in Electrum?
Yes I had to create channels but the funds seemed to disappear and I gave up.
Probably requires more effort than I took or maybe now it is easier?
But coinos makes LN very easy even if not self custodial.
That shouldn't happen. Usually the flow is quite simple.
Now the balance should be shown as lightning and you can send on lightning.
Maybe you had some Network issue making it seem like the funds disappeared, sounds weird.
Yes it was several years ago maybe 2019-21 perhaps before LN was well sorted and I didn't really know how to work it- sounds like now it may be more reliable. I might try again with a small amount and see how it goes although coinos is so easy and 99% reliable.
I use it :)
That's a data point, then :)
I use it too
Just because you do not want to hear, it doesn't mean nobody is using it.
