I was experimenting with setting up a nostr relay in my home lab and tried my hand with https://github.com/BlockChainCaffe/Nostr-Relay-Setup-Guide. Since this was geared towards running the relay on a public cloud provider and my focus was on running it in my home lab I ran into some issues. I then decided to build it using the instructions available here - https://github.com/scsibug/nostr-rs-relay. After a few attempts I managed to get it up, hence I made a decision to include the binary into a docker image for others to short circuit the process.
