Using Mock Draft Database for this one. 49ers lost out on their 7th round pick unfortunately as Keion White surpassed the conditions set for the Patriots to send a 7th back in that trade. So right now they only have picks in the first 5 rounds. 4 natural picks and 3 comp picks (2 in 4th and 1 in 5th).

Round 1: Caleb Lomu OT- slots in a LG beside Trent Williams and eventually kicks out to tackle once Trent retires. Should help solidify the 49ers biggest issue on the OLine and in the run game, interior OLine- specifically LG and C.

Round 2: Zion Young Edge- Another stout Edge setter with some pass rush upside that will allow Mykel Williams to kick inside as part of the nascar package on obvious passing downs. Won't start but will be key part of DL rotation and excellent depth if Bosa or Williams gets hurt.

Round 3: Keointe Scott CB- Versatile can play slot corner and outside and is a good run defender and blitzer. I expect the 49ers will add a veteran corner to compete with Green for CB2 so Scott will come in as part of that competition as well but ultimately likely adds versatile depth in his rookie year replacing lost cause Darrell Luter as the primary 2nd string CB.

Round 4: Deion Burks WR- Small, quick, shifty WR that is excellent at getting separation. Essentially a smaller version of Ricky Pearsall. He is Pearsall insurance, which is definitely needed because he can't stay on the field. The 49ers offense doesn't function well without a space creator and I don't trust Kyle to actually use an early pick WR. They will have to address WR in free agency and see what they have in last year's pick Jordan Watkins. I am sure Kyle will happily waste another first round pick on a WR considering the need at the position but I simply can't do it for a guy that will sit on the bench for a year and "learn the system".

Round 4: Logan Jones C- I doubt they are going to sign a C in FA and Jake Brendel is terrible. Don't listen to what the 49ers say about him, watch what they do. Calling trick plays on 4th and 1 in the playoffs instead of QB sneaking or running up the middle. I doubt they move off of him but I want a young C in the room pushing him.

Round 4: Demonte Capeheart DT- Block and double team destroyer. Rotational piece, not likely a 3 down DT yet but will be a nice compliment to the run stuffing DTs the 49ers drafted last year. Could be the one DT they use in the nascar package due to his ability to shed blocks and beat double teams.

Round 5: Jaishawn Barham LB- Versatile can play all LB spots and has the build of an edge rusher. Depending what the 49ers decide to do with Dee Winters and Nick Martin and he could be in the competition for the LB3 or provide depth at all LB spots.

Man so heavy D

4 on D and 3 on Offense.

If they had another pick, which they might if they trade Mac Jones I would probably take a TE or another WR.

Problem is Shanahan doesn't play rookies on offense. Only on the OLine. WRs, RBs and TEs get a redshirt year until he trusts them. I mean they played Pearsall a bit year 1 but that was only because Aiyuk got hurt. This year they didn't play Watkins (the WR they drafted last year) at all.

This was fine when the team was stacked but it has a lot of holes, especially in depth roles.
