Hmm faster (on average) really depends on your location in the graph I think.

I had an idea about this last week and used Blixt (because the latest Zeus is giving me more hangs than I have time to process right now) to open a channel to a LNBiG hub and most my payments now settle within 5s, in fact outperforming Phoenix, which often seems to take a bit longer to do the back and forth. Note that my mobile lnd is vpn-routed across a quarter of the world most of the time, over LTE, and that alone costs me a second or 2 of latency.

I prefer Zeus, all else being equal. I have both Zeus and alby go connected to my main LND node at home. Zeus takes a while just to open, and I wanted to make a good impression. For me, alby go always completes the transaction quicker, so I like it better in orange pilling situations.

Zeus with Tailscale fixes this

How do you implement it on your mobile wallet?

reply

Gotta use Umbrel that’s the easiest way

That's what I do. I run tailscale on Umbrel., I connected my Zeus wallet to my node. It still is sluggish compared to alby go

reply

Wow really? I experienced no slow down

But Alby go is undefeated it’s great to us.

Ah yes, I use the Zeus embedded lnd, not a server one, because I have no time to set up a proper server either right now (though I promised to unclejim a microbusiness so I will have to, next month). I think that most of the recent (0.12.0/0.12.1) issues are caused by the embedded node in Zeus.

That said, I do like the Zeus UX better than the Blixt UX, but I need my main LN wallet to not hang all the time.
