Not gonna lie. Major bummer to have to chaperone kids until 5.40pm, but otherwise, I enjoyed my afternoon with Equal-Ark Singapore Ltd more than I had expected. Part of it was due to the thoughtful programme. Trainer Danger Dan got the kids to introduce themselves using a nickname, which could be intentional in getting them to explore a different persona. Also, in a bid to empower kids, they chose the horse they would like to work with in subsequent sessions (subject to availability) and got to explain their reasoning in front of everyone.

Part of it was just being in the company of horse enthusiasts. Danger Dan used to be an ex-jockey, still loves horses and proactively shares interesting horse trivia. Case in point: the horses I’m posing with are not foals, but adult miniature horses.

Not gonna lie again. I don’t think I will want to return to Equal any time soon (I brought my marking along), but always good to experience something different. No wonder this experience shaved 15 years off my actual age in this photo.
