Before I went for an interview with Yishun Pri, I checked out the website and was intrigued by its dynamic Science curriculum. Little did I know that I would be appointed as the coordinator for the school’s SustainAble Programme barely one year later.
Just now, I fronted a site discussion with the founder of V-Plus AgriTech. Which wouldn’t have been anything memorable, except that today was the first day I really appreciated that my school has an aquaponics (Integrated Farming System) as well as a hydroponics farm. As the discussion proceeded, I could feel my mental gears churning furiously as I put two and two together and came to have a better grasp of the situation and articulated my school’s needs. Nothing short of exhilarating. By the end of the meeting, I no longer felt like I was the blind leading the blind.
After the meeting, I had to spend 45 minutes capturing the pertinent discussion points. Which takes away time for my lesson preparation for my graduating classes, but I guess it is what it is — and hey, my son will be a direct recipient of my efforts to streamline and expand this programme.
