It’s time for those struggling with a midcareer slump to consider another pathIt’s time for those struggling with a midcareer slump to consider another path

Could your pride handle working in construction, security or at an auto-body shop? The best way to get over your midcareer slump might be to get over yourself first.

Layoffs and stagnant wages have a lot of white-collar workers feeling stuck. I hear constantly from people who have applied to a hundred or more desk jobs without luck. Meanwhile, blue-collar industries face a labor shortage.

This is the third article this week I've read from the WSJ front page about blue collar work.

If you're not aware, the pages of the WSJ and the New York Times and the Economist and the Financial Times, and their ilk (mainstream corporate media) are consensus manufacturing machines for the elite.

Thus, behind every trend you observe on their front pages is a well funded agenda being manifested through that organization's writers.

The more we read about this topic in the pages of such media outlets, the more it signals that this is going to be on the political agenda in the near future. So I expect that we'll see some action on this issue quite soon. Position yourselves accordingly.
