Just the first work week of the year, and I think I might not be able to fulfill my resolution of exploring a new place with the kids every weekend. I feel head space-less — too many things in work and life to monitor and consider.
But today, I did drag my weary soul to Canberra Park. I understood very well that it only has one dinosaur feature, which is the fossil installation you see in my photos. The son didn’t seem very impressed by the fossil feature. He hardly spent any time there.
Nonetheless, it was a trip well made for me. I had no idea that public parks in Singapore could be so spacious and airy and accommodating of different needs. Anecdotally known as the slide background of Singapore, Canberra Playground not only boasts a wide range of slides, but also houses a rope obstacle course, a fitness corner and an open-air court. Its welcoming feel, coupled with the sunny weather, set the scene for a memorable morning. They played here for half an hour without any complaints!
I’m also proud to be Singaporean. Come on lar, not many countries in the world will thoughtfully include play amenities suitable for wheelchair-bound kids.
