cashu is just a gift card from a mint. You give to the mint sats, they give you tokens. You can use those tokens between mint users or melt them into sats by paying any other LN invoice.
Exactly like CCs from SN, but with the exception that cashu can be spent with any other LN wallet / invoice, the redeem / melt is on the fly. and CCs cannot do that.
