First, I want to make it clear that I have always been —and will continue to be— skeptical about paranormal phenomena, chakras, and anything that cannot be verified. As we say in the Bitcoin world: don’t trust, verify.
A couple of days ago, during the Christmas holidays, I was invited to a free KAP session (Kundalini Activation Process, also known as ERA or Inner Dance). The session lasted about an hour, with around 10 minutes at the beginning for a brief explanation and, at the end, about 15 minutes for participants to voluntarily share their experience.
I went with a group of friends and family. In total, there were about ten of us, two of whom I didn’t know. There were four facilitators, and one of them was the person who invited us. Each participant had a yoga mat. We had to take off our shoes, lie down on our backs, and close our eyes.
In this type of session, a playlist is used at a very high volume, even louder than in a nightclub. I tried to focus on the music and on my breathing. After several minutes and several songs, the facilitators began approaching participants to touch their supposed energy points (chakras), starting with the soles of the feet. Honestly, it felt pleasant. It wasn’t a massage; they simply touched certain areas of the sole with one finger. Later, they moved to the abdomen and, finally, to the head.
What did I feel?
It’s winter here and quite cold. Luckily, I was near a heater, but even so my hands and arms felt very cold. Despite the extremely loud music, the vibrations of the wooden floor, and the footsteps of the facilitators, I actually fell asleep for a few seconds. It was very strange: I felt like there was a debate between the conscious and unconscious parts of my mind. The conscious part kept telling me I couldn’t be dreaming because the place was too noisy, I didn’t have my pillow, and I was lying on a hard floor… but the other part kept showing me a dream about an airplane.
Another curious sensation was that, at one point, I felt a gentle touch on the back of my neck and couldn’t clearly tell whether it was the hand of one of the facilitators or just my imagination.
After being touched on the abdomen, I had the sensation of difficulty breathing: it felt as if I had to concentrate and make an effort in order to breathe. I felt that if I didn’t do it voluntarily and consciously, my body “forgot” to breathe and I started to feel out of air. If I didn’t think about inhaling, I felt like I was running out of air. I stayed like that for quite a while —I think for an entire song.
What about the other participants?
Three people cried due to different emotions. Some said they felt peace, and others said they didn’t feel anything special. Later, speaking with one of the facilitators, she told me she had been learning and practicing meditation for several years, had attended Joe Dispenza events, and decided to train as a facilitator because, during previous KAP sessions, she felt the energy move her in different ways. She was told that she is highly hypersensitive to this kind of energy.
Important note: we did not consume any type of drug. Only the darkness of the space and the intense music were enough to induce that state.
I don’t really know how to categorize what I experienced. I am still skeptical, but I also recognize that it was a different and, at times, impactful experience. I’m not trying to convince anyone or claim there is anything “mystical” behind it; I’m simply sharing what I felt from my own perspective.
Have you ever experienced anything you would consider “paranormal” or hard to explain?
Do you practice any kind of meditation or inner-connection technique?
