Yes, central planning was absolutely and demonstrably fundamental to that growth...however most of the growth has occurred since the combination of central planning and free market competition was introduced by Deng.
The mixed economy is a potent hybrid vigour approach when applied with skill and determination.
It is what gave China a near monopoly over refined rare earths and achieved the crippling of the US military industrial combine.
USA has lost the trade war and is no longer militarily capable.
