A bid for attention? Seriously, fuck you. -- Mike Brock

Well, Mike, your first line is "Bitcoin will fail." It's all by itself there at the beginning. It's a flashy statement and it catches my attention. Having used many such techniques myself, I think it's a reasonable basis on which to make the claim that you wrote the piece with an aim to stir up controversy and garner attention.

It's reasonable to say I'm wrong about what you said or to say that you were just exploring an idea on your own, with no aim to sensationalize things or bait people into an argument. Sadly, your response to the reaction you knew you would get has been outrage and flame war. What gives?

Saying "seriously, fuck you" really doesn't do much to make me think I should take you seriously. I suppose that's the nature of internet discussion, but all the same, id love to think your stance had merit.

Well, my friend, one might assume that my choice of vulgarity betrays a deliberate lack of care for how valuable your opinion of my thoughts is to me. Or at least, wonder.
