There are lots of Senators who do not know a damn thing about crypto. Most are anti-crypto because they are ignorant. Senator Feinstein is one of many who are Enemies of Crypto.

Did you catch any of the Senate Banking Hearing On Crypto, today. It was a joke. I only watched a few minutes. Elizabeth Warren is on the Committee. She is a supporter of Gary Gensler. That explains a lot. :)
