The New York State Gaming Commission has approved the $8.1bn (£6bn/€6.8bn) plan to build a casino project near Citi Field in Queens.
The plan involves converting 50 acres of land surrounding the 41,922-capacity venue into an integrated casino resort and entertainment district.
It is being led by Steve Cohen, owner of MLB team New York Mets which play at Citi Field, and Hard Rock International.
Operating jointly as Metropolitan Park, which is also the name of the project, the developers claim that it would lead to 25 acres of new public green space, 23,000 union jobs and more than $1.75bn in community benefits and infrastructure improvements.
This looks amazing!! If I ever make it to a Mets game I can then go bet it all on black! Haha crazy to see sports and gambling come together!
You can bet on the Mets before you go into the game.
