ngl when backtesting no trust and the results are weird. vibe feels off.

The new half-life seems to keep hot lively!

Not sure about the new downzap/boost balance though, but cannot tell whether that is caused by the removal of trust or the removal of log10.

Are you able to describe what feels off more specifically?

It's subtle enough that I can't describe it. It feels kind of cold I guess. Kind of like how a hotel feels vs someone's house. It could merely be agitating my consistency bias though.

Originally I was using a 12 hour half-life, but ramped it up to 4 and that helped things. That's the only real lever I have now.

There is something nice about it too though. Zapping is a level playing field. So I think if/when we reintroduce trust we'll create a less significant trust gap (no haves and have nots). We won't do log transforms (which favors sybils) and give everyone meaningful trust on day 1, then highly trusted people can maybe earn twice as much trust as a new account over time.

That will leave rewards exposed to sybils (more accounts are better and all have trust) but I sense I can figure out an alternative reward system.
