Do you see Bitcoin Lightning only for payments or do you also see it as useful for holding small amounts?

reply

If those small amounts are in a lndhub/nwc account run by a friend with a LN bank, then yes. Otherwise no, LN is mostly for payments. Consider your LN channels as your regular pockets with cash, for day to day spending.

Let's be clear, if you are not going to use your sats to receive or make payments, DO NOT OPEN LN CHANNELS. Is simple like that.

If you are receiving more thhan you spend, is also simple: once you fill up your LN channels, empy them using a swap to onchain. Then repeat.

If you are spending more than you receive, again, once are emptied, refill them using a swap, This is all you do with LN. LN is THE PAYMENT NETWORK. You do not keep those sats forever in a dormant LN channel.

Anyone else started too many things at once?

Probably, but the nice thing is that this way you'll never be bored. Commitments is different of course.

I generally just let things sit and if I never touch it again, fine too. If overwhelmed, do something else for half a day or so (or sleep), and then make decisions on what to prioritize. Can always adjust.

first!

...

I had an incredibly disturbing dream recently enough that I still remember what was bothersome about it, despite not lingering on it immediately after waking. As tension mounted, I was in some large cafeteria/mess-hall-like space, occupied only by strangers. There was some tricky business afoot of people maneuvering to keep line of sight to tables or people that they were spying on. I stopped focusing on whichever other table had interested me, realising that someone was probably spying on me, and began scanning to figure out about whom I should be worried. I noticed one person rise and anticipated his path towards my table, although as he approached one of the tables between us, someone rose suddenly and began walking obliquely towards my table in a way that blocked the path. Disturbed by the realisation that the politics and alignments mess was much more complicated than I had previously understood, I awoke, deeply disturbed.
