Not sure but I think it depends...

In my PC I have HDD and Core installed and it works just fine.
In my RasPi4 I have Umbrel and SSD and I'm quite sure this is the requirement also.

I just want to install a debian os + core + electrum server on a PC, no RaspPi for me
