What happens to bitcoin if all good bitconers running nodes now will have grandchildren that simpy don't care about the ethos of freedom money and don't keep the good ideas and running own nodes, in 200 years let's say a lot of grandchildren get crazy, lazy and etc and get coopeted by whatever will be the future blackrock and etc. Can bitcoin be coopted and changed in order to become a new fiat shit?

At the end of the day, there is a self-interested reason to run a node: you want to be able to check that people aren't cheating you, that they really are sending you Bitcoin. The only way to to this without trusting some third party is to run a node that tells your wallet about the coins you receive.

I figure people will continue to run nodes because it is useful.

reply

only a tiny fraction of bitcoiners care about that, most are just here for the money and don't care, don't want to understand how to run a node.

reply

Right, so then why do you expect them to run a node in the future? In the case where nobody has a self interested reason to run a node, yes, Bitcoin dies.

reply

I think aantonop has the right idea. When (not if) things get bad, you gotta disrupt again. The "Disruptarian" approach. In this hypothetical 200 years from now context, it might mean that it would be time for a new Bitcoin.

focus on improving the current conditions and educating kids properly; @remindme in 197 years

That means they are not real bitcoiners and they should castrate themselves / not making anymore kids.

It is already...

But that doesn't mean real bitcoiners will not exist anymore. I will be the last man on Earth using Bitcoin.

So it's a lost battle and bitcoin will not last for centuries.
