I tore apart my old CC tonight... it was threadbare. Two pieces of heavy duty plastic sandwiching a flimsy metal plate.

I would consider a tool like this to be ideal for relatively low risk encounters. The believable plastic credit card camo covers up the words stamped into it... and the card is otherwise inert.

It would show up like a credit card in a wallet on a border crossing, or delivery x-ray.
